West of Mexico

February Monday 13th to saturday 25th

After los Cabos, I went back to La Paz, from where there is a ferry to continental Mexico.
I had time to visit the city, and the very cool whale museum.

I stayed 2 days in Mazatlan, beautiful coastal town. I was hosted by a mexican friend, Johnatan. I visited downtown, went up the lighthouse, and chilled on the beach.

I stayed 3 days in Guadalajara, I was hosted by couchsurfers in a very cool shared appartment. Despite an ugly stomachache I was able to visit the city.

I left on thursday the 23rd, hitchhiking to Morelia. It went very well but I have no pictures. I was hosted in couchsurfing by a very cool family. On friday, I went to see the very beautiful nearby city of Pátzquaro, where I saw the Janitzio island (with the statue Morelos, hero of mexican independance on top of it), and the archeological site of Ihuatzio. A very full day.

On saturday, I visited downtown Morelia, I tasted a local specialty called gaspacho: chopped up fruiton which there is… cheese and hot pepper! I then took a bus to Mexico city, where I’m spending a week before hiiting the road again.
