March 13th to 25th
After meeting my cousin Isadora in Cancun, we left on march 14th for the Holbox island. A small island with beautiful sunets. We camped and enjoyed the beach and the sea.
After 2 days on the island, we went on thurday to Playa del Carmen, where a friend of mine hosted us. We visited the cenote (cenotes are natural sinkhole filled with fresh water, probably caused by a meteor, which may be the one that caused the extintion of dinosaurs) cristalino and went to the beach.
We left on aturday with my friend veronica to Tulum, where we visited the maya site, the only site in america on the side of the sea.
On monday the 20th we took a bus to Bacalar, 3 hour south. This city is on the lake Bacalar, with beautiful blue colors. We stayed 3 days: swimming, stand up paddle, visit of the nearby cenote azul.
We left Bacalar on thursday the 24th for our last stop in the Yucatan peninsula: the beautiful site of Calakmul, in the middle of the jungle, full of animals. Not very easy to access but worth it!
To come: The state of Chiapas, last mexican stop befor Central America!
