Mexico city and the way to Cancun

February 25th to march 13th.

I stayed a week in Mexico city, partied with friends, got some rest, before going back to the trip. I did one thing I had not done before: I went to visit the wholesale market. I went there at 5am to see all the action. I saw the fish & sea food market, and then the fruits & vegetables one.

I then left Mexico on sunday the 5th and went to the Cantona archeological site, in the state of Puebla. It’s an important site but not easy to access, so not a lot of people visit it. I went there with a friend from Mexico city, in her car, and I spent the night in Puebla (the capital city of the state)

The next day, I went to Xalapa, the capital of the state of Veracruz. I visited the city, and went the day after to the museum of anthropology, where I could admire impressive Olmec colossal heads.

I then went to Tlanepantla, a village in the Veracruz state, which is a Unseco world heritage place, thanks to its unique architecture, with colourful columns.

I left on thursday 9th to go to Villahermosa, in the state of Tabasco. There I visited the city as well as a museum/park.

On friday, I went to Comalcalco, 1h away from Villahermosa. It’s a little village with a great Maya archeological site, (arriving early I had it almost to myself!), and a chocolate plantation and plant. Before leaving for Campeche, I went quickly to the Villahermosa regional museum of anthropology, where there is the stela on which was anounced the end of the maya cycle on december 21st 2012, which afraid a lot of people that thought it was gonna be the end of the world.
